About Us

Alan Ainsworth has been a photographer for over 40 years. He combined his photography with a business career until 2006, when he shifted to focus exclusively on his photographic practice.

Alan has become known for work in music photography, particularly through his extensive archive of images of jazz musicians. More recently, his photography of City themes and architecture have attracted much attention. His book - Clerkenwell: change and renewal, an illustrated account of urban renewal – was published in 2011. He is currently working on a new book on contemporary architecture in the City of London to be published early-2013. In the arts field, Alan holds the position of Photographer-in-residence at the University of Warwick Arts Centre.

Images in the galleries on this site can be bought in a variety of ways. Alan offers conventional and canvas prints with stylish art frames hand-made by master craftsman Luke Blackwell. Image folios, art cards and calendars displaying Alan’s photography are also available, together with a range of digital products. Alan offers a number of training workshops and lectures on photographic subjects.
